Sarah Basler is an Associate Lecturer and Undergraduate Field Coordinator in the Department of Social Work at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIU-C). She earned her M.S.W. from SIU-C in 2016 and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with an Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification from IAODAPCA (CADC, CODP). With over 20 years of clinical experience, she has worked extensively in substance use disorders, trauma-informed care, and behavioral health, including roles at Gateway Foundation, Herrin Hospital, and as a civilian contractor supporting Illinois National Guard families during deployments.

- Certifications: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), and Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CODP).
Her research and practice focus on substance use disorders, trauma-informed care, and behavioral health interventions. She has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, and Mindful Base Sobriety.
