Sarah Augusto

Sarah Augusto is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Curry College. She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Davis, and a B.A. in Sex, Gender, and Social Movements from Hampshire College.

Her research focuses on decentralized, horizontal organizing in social movements, particularly the Student and Occupy Movements on University of California campuses. She also explores intersections of sex and gender, popular culture, family dynamics, and innovative teaching methods, including visionary fiction and social justice.
