Sara Gummesson

Sara Gummesson is a Lecturer at Stockholm University's Department of Archaeology and Classical Studies, specializing in taphonomy, osteoarchaeological analysis, and Stone Age technologies. She leads the Swedish Research Council-funded project Retrieving Osseous Biographies, investigating bone/antler tool transmission in the Baltic Sea region (9500–3000 BCE) through radiocarbon dating, ZooMS, and paleoenvironmental methods. Sara also contributes to the Alvastra project (Uppsala University) and the NordForsk-supported FenScan network, focusing on wetland archaeology methodology.
