Dr. Sara Erdner is a Clinical Associate Professor of Kinesiology at Adams State University and adjunct faculty at the University of Western States. She specializes in sport psychology, coaching, and mental performance consulting. Erdner holds a B.S. in Communication Studies (2012, University of Alabama-Huntsville), M.S. in Communication Studies (2015, University of Tennessee, Knoxville), and Ph.D. in Sport Psychology and Motor Behavior (2018, University of Tennessee, Knoxville).
Her research focuses on fostering mental resilience, self-awareness, and effective communication in high-performance environments. She authored Dear Coach: What I Wish I Could Have Told You (2021), offering athletes' perspectives to improve coaching practices. Erdner is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, working with collegiate, professional, and Olympic athletes.
