About
Sandrine Aubrun is a Full Professor at Centrale Nantes, affiliated with the Hydraulic, Environment, Energy and Aeronautics Laboratory (LHEEA). Her research focuses on offshore wind energy, particularly aerodynamics of floating wind turbines and wake dynamics. She holds a mechanical engineering degree from Strasbourg, a master’s and PhD in fluid mechanics from Toulouse, and completed a postdoc in Germany studying atmospheric pollutant dispersion.
Research Interests: Her work addresses turbine-wake interactions, floating turbine motions, and large-scale atmospheric effects. Key facilities include the LHEEA wind tunnel and SEM-REV full-scale offshore test site. Recent projects include coordinating the Flower EU project on floating wind energy and the Oracle multidisciplinary cluster in Nantes.
Collaborations: Active in European/national projects, she collaborates with researchers across disciplines and leverages Centrale Nantes’ research support and communication teams to advance project development and result dissemination.
Future Prospects: Continues leading the Flower project and expanding offshore wind research through experimental and numerical studies, emphasizing sustainable energy solutions and cross-institutional collaboration.
