Sandra Braun

Dr. Sandra Braun is an Associate Professor of Public Relations at Mount Royal University's School of Communication Studies. An alumna of the program, she holds a master's degree from the University of Florida and a doctorate from the University of Alabama. Her research examines international PR practices, theoretical applications, women's roles in PR, and Canadian communications scholarship, with notable work on Bulgaria's PR landscape and historical analysis of Canadian public relations.

Her recent book, History of PR in Canada: An Annotated Bibliography and Critical Historiography (2025), provides foundational analysis of the discipline's development. Dr. Braun's scholarship bridges historical analysis with contemporary issues including international student mobility policies and social media's transformation of PR practice.

She has developed specialized curricula integrating Canadian content and maintains research collaborations exploring cultural dimensions of public relations across diverse contexts including the United Arab Emirates and Bulgaria.
