Sandeep Banerjee is an Associate Professor of English and Director of the Honours Programme at McGill University's Faculty of Arts. His research focuses on Global Anglophone Literature, postcolonial South Asia, and British 19th-century studies. He holds a Ph.D. from Syracuse University, an M.Phil. from Oxford, and degrees from Jadavpur University, India.
Research interests include spatial theory, decolonial aesthetics, Cold War cultural politics, and literary form. He authored Space, Utopia and Indian Decolonization (Routledge 2019) and co-edited Partition, Belonging and the Birth of Bangladesh (forthcoming). Current projects include a monograph on colonial Himalayan placemaking and translations of Bengali literature.
