Samuel Abbey

Dr. Samuel Abbey is an Associate Professor and Associate Director in the School of Engineering at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). He leads strategic development and operational management of engineering practice & management programs. His expertise lies in geotechnical engineering, sustainable infrastructure, ground improvement, and soil-structure interaction. He holds a PhD, MSc, BEng, and professional certifications including SFHEA and CEng.

His research focuses on addressing geotechnical challenges in infrastructure design, particularly climate change impacts on geo-structures and sustainable ground improvement. He has pioneered projects like the 'Novel Nano Greener Materials (NNGM)' for soil stabilization. He actively contributes to peer-reviewed journals, serves as a reviewer, and supervises PhD students in experimental soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering.

He has collaborated with institutions like Imperial College London, University of Birmingham, and Nigerian universities. His work emphasizes low-carbon solutions in construction materials and sustainable road pavement design.
