Samantha Tate

Samantha Tate is a Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of Sunderland. With 15 years of experience teaching in secondary schools before joining the university, she brings substantial practical knowledge to her academic role. She has held both pastoral and subject-specific posts during her teaching career and has served as an examiner for KS3, GCSE, and A level Mathematics.

She is passionate about addressing maths anxiety in learners of all ages. Her specific research interests include:

Samantha supervises dissertation students working on mathematics-related themes such as maths anxiety, dyscalculia, and girls in STEM subjects.
