Prof. Samantha Harrison is a Research Professor in Respiratory Rehabilitation at Teeside University’s SHLS Allied Health Professions Centre for Rehabilitation. She holds a PhD from the University of Leicester (2014, part-time) and completed post-doctoral training in Toronto, Canada. Her research focuses on improving mobility and well-being for individuals with chronic breathlessness, particularly COPD patients. She is supported by an NIHR Advanced Fellowship and leads transdisciplinary projects involving engineering, art, and clinical collaboration.
**Education**: PhD (2014, part-time) in Psychology from the University of Leicester; Chartered Physiotherapist with clinical experience at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester.
**Research Interests**: Balance impairment mechanisms in COPD, personalized interventions for mobility improvement, qualitative methods for chronic condition analysis.
**Key Projects**: Co-creation of balance training programs for COPD (NIHR-funded), Virtual Reality for Rehabilitation (INTERREG), and Cochrane Priority Setting for Sports Injury Prevention.
