Sama Waham

Sama Waham is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Study at the University at Buffalo's College of Arts and Sciences. An internationally acclaimed filmmaker with 21+ awards and nominations, she specializes in hybrid cinema forms and experimental storytelling.

Research Focus: Expanding moving image formats, redefining traditional filmmaking genres, and exploring non-linear narratives through personal essay films and hybrid documentaries.

Selected Works: 'Sing for Me' (2015) pioneered experimental documentary approaches to diasporic identity exploration.
