Sam Dimov is a Lecturer and Teaching Assistant in Jazz Studies at The University of Texas at Austin. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from Temple University and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Jazz Performance at UT Austin. His career includes a decade with the 287th Army Band, where he performed in diverse ensembles like NOLA-style brass bands, jazz combos, and ceremonial marching bands. He leads the Sam Dimov Quintet/Trio and collaborates with groups such as Sofrito y Su Melao and Hepner's Rebellion, showcasing versatility across jazz, bluegrass, pop, and Latin music.

Sam’s research and teaching interests focus on jazz performance, music education, and ensemble leadership. His work emphasizes adaptability in the music industry and fostering collaborative, inclusive musical environments.
Sam has performed widely, including a live taping at Monks Jazz Club with his quintet, and maintains an active presence in Austin’s music scene. He plays a B.A.C. Custom trombone as a B.A.C. Performing Artist.
