Sally Simpson is Distinguished University Professor Emerita of Criminology and Criminal Justice at University of Maryland. She founded and directed the Center for Study of Business Ethics, Regulation & Crime (C-BERC), with research focusing on corporate crime and gender issues.
Research interests: Primary research examines corporate offending patterns, gender disparities in criminal justice, and intersection of race/class/gender in crime. Current projects include Medicare fraud prediction using behavioral big data, gender diversity in corporate leadership, and corporate crime prevention strategies. Methodologies include archival analysis, surveys, and large-scale data analytics.
