SOPHIA ALEXANDRA TSIPAS

Sophia Alexandra Tsipas is an Associate Professor at the University Carlos III of Madrid, affiliated with the Materials Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering department. Her research focuses on advanced materials processing, corrosion engineering, and biomedical applications. She leads projects such as CIRQUA (2024-2027) and Fabricación Aditiva Sostenible (2022-2025), emphasizing sustainable manufacturing and material innovation.

Research Interests: Tsipas specializes in powder metallurgy, surface engineering, and MAX phase materials. She explores corrosion-resistant coatings, tribocorrosion behavior, and biomedical applications of titanium alloys.
