SELDA BAL

Dr. Selda Bal serves as a Senior Instructor and Coordinator in the Department of Nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). Her office is located at SBF 215, and she can be reached at selda.bal@emu.edu.tr.

Her educational background includes:

• PhD in Nursing from Mersin University (2022)
• MS in Nursing from Near East University (TRNC-Nicosia) (2016)
• BS in Nursing from Near East University (TRNC-Nicosia) (2014)

Dr. Bal's research focuses on complementary approaches in nursing practice, particularly non-pharmacological pain management techniques for cardiac patients. Her work investigates how traditional practices like acupressure can be integrated into modern medical settings to improve patient outcomes. She examines the physiological and psychological impacts of these interventions during invasive procedures, with special attention to anxiety reduction and vital sign stabilization.

Her publication on acupressure effects during coronary angiography represents significant contribution to evidence-based nursing practice. This randomized controlled trial methodology provides valuable insights for cardiac care protocols, demonstrating how complementary medicine approaches can enhance traditional nursing interventions in high-stress medical procedures.
