Rıdvan Turhan

Assoc. Prof. Rıdvan Turhan is an academic at Istanbul University, currently serving in the Faculty of Literature, Department of Sociology. His research focuses on the sociology of institutions, economic sociology, and historical sociology, with a particular emphasis on Turkish intellectual history and minority integration.

• Education: PhD, MA, and BA in Sociology from Istanbul University
• Teaching: Courses on Economic Thought Origins, Social Stratification, Turkish Economic History

His publications examine topics like the 1929 economic crisis in Turkish media, Jewish modernization in Turkey, and intellectual influences on Ziya Gökalp. He has supervised doctoral theses on Kazakhstani middle-class formation and Ibnülemin Mahmud Kemal İnal's role in Turkish thought. Turhan also participated in the WORLDBRIDGES FP7 project and served as peer reviewer for multiple journals.
