Ayhan VERGİLİ is a part-time Associate Professor at Uskudar University's Department of Sociology. His research focuses on the history of sociology, sociology of health, science studies, and knowledge systems. He holds a PhD from Istanbul University (2011) with a thesis on Turkey's medical institutionalization and health politics during the Republican era.

Research Interests: Dr. Vergili examines the sociological dimensions of healthcare systems, the evolution of medical institutions in Turkey, and the intellectual history of Turkish sociology. He also explores translation's impact on disciplinary formation in sociology and critical analyses of key figures like Émile Durkheim and Hilmi Ziya Ülken.
Teaching Activities: Currently teaches courses such as 'Health Sociology and Anthropology', 'Body, Health and Society', and 'Problems of Turkish Sociology' at Uskudar University (2023-2024).
Publications: Authored three books including Türkiye’de Modern Sağlık Eğitimi ve Hizmetlerinin Kurumsallaşması (2020) and edited volumes on Hilmi Ziya Ülken. His articles analyze sociological translation histories and critical evaluations of Turkish intellectual figures.
