Ryan Peter

Ryan Peter is an artist working at the intersection of painting and photography. He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an Instructor at MIAD (Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design).

His artistic practice explores the interplay between traditional painting techniques and photographic processes, with a focus on cyanotype and gelatin silver prints. His works have been exhibited at prominent institutions such as the Vancouver Art Gallery, Susan Hobbs Gallery in Toronto, and the Walter + McBean Galleries in San Francisco.

Scientific awards and grants received include:

• Two Project Grants to Visual Artists from the Canada Council for the Arts
• Two Project Assistance for the Visual Arts Grants from the British Columbia Arts Council
