Ryan Matthias

Rev. Ryan Matthias serves as the T-L Irrigation, LeRoy and Jean Thom Chaplain and Theology Instructor at Concordia University, Nebraska since 2008. He leads chapel services, provides spiritual counseling, announces athletic events, and teaches courses in Old Testament, Faith and Life, and Theology of Corporate Worship while maintaining a visible campus presence through attendance at student activities and informal mentoring.

Matthias cultivates community through relational ministry, stating: \"I’m passionate about trying to connect with as many students as possible. If they need a meal, I’ll cook them a meal. If they need to laugh, we’ll joke around for a while. If they need a walk, we’ll go walk and pray.\" Prior to Concordia, he served as a juvenile delinquent counselor, youth boot camp director, and pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa, emphasizing his commitment to practical spiritual care in educational settings.
