Ryan Burger

Ryan Burger is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Business at Concordia University, Nebraska, where he has been teaching since 2010. He is actively involved in the undergraduate programs in Accounting and Business Administration, contributing his professional expertise to shape future business leaders.

Ryan earned his degree from Concordia University, Nebraska, where he was recognized as the Outstanding Student in Business in 2004. His professional journey includes four years at the Nebraska State Auditor’s Office and a position at Gabriel, Burger & Else, CPAs, grounding his teaching in real-world accounting and tax experience.

His research and teaching interests center on accounting, taxation, business administration, and nonprofit financial management. His personal connection to Lutheran education—through his wife, a former Lutheran schoolteacher—sparked a deep interest in complex tax issues affecting ministers and religious educators.

Ryan has made significant contributions to his community through leadership roles. He has served as treasurer and board member for several organizations, including the Seward Area Chamber of Commerce, Concordia University Board of Regents, Et Cetera Thrift Shop, Seward Memorial Library Foundation, Mental Health Association of Nebraska, Christ Lutheran Foundation, and the Nebraska Society of CPAs Foundation.

Ryan is a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Lincoln and lives with his wife Lisa and their three children. His dedication to service, education, and professional excellence continues to influence both his academic and civic engagements.
