Ruth Bowness

Ruth Bowness is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of St Andrews' School of Medicine within the Medical & Biological Sciences department. As an MRC research fellow, she actively supervises postgraduate research students through PhD projects focused on mathematical modeling of infectious diseases.

Her research expertise centers on developing in-host mathematical models for infectious diseases, using partial and ordinary differential equations alongside individual-based models to simulate disease progression and antibiotic treatment strategies.
