Ruth Beresford

Ruth Beresford is a Research Associate in the Department of Psychology, Sociology & Politics at Sheffield Hallam University's Sheffield Institute of Social Sciences. Holding BA, MA, and PhD degrees from the University of Sheffield, her research examines sexuality, pornography consumption, and feminist methodologies through participatory approaches.

Research investigates women's lived experiences of pornography and their perspectives on sex education curricula. Current projects develop feminist and disability-informed participatory methods for studying sensitive topics, funded by an Early Career Fellowship.

Publications demonstrate methodological innovation in studying chronic pain management and sexual health service provision. Work consistently applies qualitative approaches to healthcare delivery evaluation and sexual behavior research.
