Rui Cai

Rui Cai is an Assistant Professor at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) since 2020. His research focuses on comparative contract law, particularly examining termination grounds in German, U.S., and Chinese legal frameworks. He holds a doctorate from Tsinghua University on the doctrine of unconscionability and conducted prior research at Heidelberg University (2018–2019). During a 2023 visit to the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, he presented on the Chinese Civil Code's judicial interpretations.
