Rudolf Lutz (*1951) is a Swiss musician, conductor, and composer renowned for his work in sacred music and historical performance practice. He received an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Theology at the University of Zurich in 2021, recognizing his contributions to performing and disseminating Johann Sebastian Bach's vocal works, including founding the J.S. Bach Foundation and directing its ensemble since 2006. Lutz has taught improvisation at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, bass continuo at the Basel University of Music, and oratorio studies at the Zurich University of Music.
