Roy Suddaby

Roy Suddaby is Winspear Professor of Management at University of Victoria's Gustavson School of Business and Associate Dean for Research & Innovation. A Fellow of the Academy of Management and Royal Society of Canada, his research examines symbolic resources in organizations, including legitimacy, authenticity, and historical narratives.

Current projects investigate the changing role of corporations and craft-science intersections in innovation. Editorial roles include positions at Academy of Management Perspectives and Human Resources Management Journal, with previous editorship at Academy of Management Review. International appointments include visiting professorships at Washington State University, University of Liverpool, and IAE Business School.

Research leadership includes SSHRC-funded projects on food systems legitimacy and corporate traditions. Recent publications analyze value transmission in family businesses, rhetorical strategies in entrepreneurship, and temporal dimensions of organizational change.
