Roy Anthony Thompson

Roy Anthony Thompson, PhD, RN is an Assistant Professor and health services researcher at Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, City University of New York. Originally from Jamaica, Dr. Thompson brings international experience to his work focusing on nursing workforce issues in long-term care settings.

Dr. Thompson's research program examines the intersections of healthcare workforce, long-term care services, health disparities, and health policy. His work specifically investigates the impact of internationally educated nurses on long-term care health systems and explores nursing staff patterns and health disparities in nursing homes serving older adults.

His expertise spans nursing workforce in long term care, health disparities, care of residents with Alzheimer's and related dementias, rural health and health policy development.
