Rowan Meredith is an SJD Candidate at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and an Adjunct Professor at Allard School of Law. Her research focuses on copyright law barriers to accessibility for disabled persons under international frameworks like the Marrakesh Treaty, blending copyright theory with human rights and anti-discrimination perspectives.
Education: JD from UCLA School of Law (2018, specializing in Entertainment, Media, and IP Law; 3rd in class), LLM in Media Law from Queen Mary University of London (2019, distinction). Licensed to practice law in British Columbia and California, with in-house legal counsel experience at a social media company.
Research Interests: Intersection of intellectual property, disability rights, and international law. Active in analyzing fictional language copyrightability and LGBTQ+ representation in media.
Teaching: Leads courses in Advanced Legal Research and Copyright Law & Social Media at Allard School of Law.
