Rotimi Joseph

Dr Rotimi Joseph is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Brighton, School of Architecture, Technology and Engineering, where he contributes to the Built Environment, Architecture and Construction (BEACON) Research Excellence Group. He is also a Visiting Fellow at the University of the West of England and principal partner at Kemrot Associates Limited, blending academic and industry expertise in construction and flood resilience.

Dr Joseph's research focuses on construction management, particularly cost-benefit analysis and the intangible benefits of property-level flood risk adaptation. His work bridges engineering, economics, and social science, emphasizing resilience, sustainability, and practical policy implementation. He investigates how homeowners and communities adopt low-cost resilience measures and the psychological impacts of flooding. His research is applied and industry-led, often in collaboration with DEFRA and Flood Re.

His recent publications highlight trends in environmental management systems in construction, BIM data quality, and flood resilience. The articles span disciplines including construction technology, disaster risk reduction, and environmental policy, with subfields ranging from ISO14001 implementation to mental health impacts of flooding.
