Rosa Chang

Rosa Chang is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida International University. She earned her PhD in Sociology from University of Miami with concentrations in criminology and race/ethnic relations. Her work examines perceptions of immigrants as threats and disproportionate minority contact in juvenile justice systems.

Before academia, she served as Juvenile Services Specialist in Miami and Victim/Witness Counselor. She coordinates department food pantry initiatives and moderates federal career panels. Recognitions include the 2020 Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award and certification in remote teaching methodologies.
