Ronald L. Tracy is an Associate Professor of Economics at Oakland University's School of Business Administration. He previously chaired the Department of Economics (1985–1993) and has served as Associate Dean since 2006. His research focuses on econometric methodology, time series analysis, applied economics, statistical theory, and public policy. Tracy has held NSF grants for teaching business statistics and authored/co-edited works on macroeconomic policy, statistical pedagogy, and the Reagan-era economic legacy. He teaches courses in econometrics, monetary economics, and public policy.

Research Interests: Tracy’s work bridges theoretical statistical methods with applied policy analysis. Recent emphases include environmental-economic linkages, IT-driven productivity gains, and critical thinking in statistics education. He advocates for innovative pedagogical tools like beam-and-fulcrum displays to enhance data exploration. His NSF-funded research explores effective use of computers in teaching statistics.
