Ron Perrott

Ron Perrott is a Visiting Professor at the Oxford e-Research Centre, University of Oxford. He holds dual roles as Professor and Visiting Professor with significant contributions to parallel computing and high-performance computing strategies. He served as Chairman of the RCUK’s High Performance Computing Strategy Committee and member of the UK’s Informatics Committee for e-Science initiatives.

His research focuses on parallel programming languages, supercomputing architectures, and software engineering. He led UK government technology delegations to the US, China, and Japan, and advised research councils in multiple countries including the US, EU, Australia, Norway, Sweden, and Colombia.

Recipient of prestigious awards including ACM Distinguished Service Award (2016), ACM Fellowship (1996), and IEEE Fellowship (2004). He served 21 years as Editor of the Scientific Programming Journal.

Contributed to EU policy development through working groups and strategy committees. His work bridges academic research and industrial technology transfer in computational sciences.
