Ron Hayduk is a Professor in the Political Science department at San Francisco State University. He teaches courses on American politics, focusing on immigration, inequality, political participation, and social movements.

Hayduk’s research explores the intersection of immigration policy and democratic governance. He has published extensively on noncitizen voting rights, historical and contemporary election administration, and participatory budgeting in the Bay Area. His work appears in journals like Journal of American Ethnic History and New Political Science, as well as popular outlets such as Jacobin and Los Angeles Times.
Current projects include a book on migration and inequality (forthcoming 2026) and a study of participatory budgeting practices in the Bay Area. Hayduk serves on the boards of the North American Participatory Budgeting Research Board and the Western Political Science Association.
Prior to academia, he worked as a social worker and in New York City government, and has consulted for organizations like Demos and the Aspen Institute.
