Kenneth Gold

Dr. Kenneth Gold is an Associate Professor and Dean of Education at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York (CUNY). He also holds a faculty appointment in the CUNY Graduate Center’s doctoral program in Urban Education.

His research focuses on the historical development of public education systems, particularly summer education programs in American schools. He is currently completing a manuscript titled The Forgotten Borough, examining Staten Island’s historical relationship with New York City during the Twentieth Century.

Key publication themes include: educational policy evolution in urban contexts, community organizing in schools, and bureaucratic transformations in educational programming. His work spans interdisciplinary fields such as education history, urban studies, and cultural heritage documentation.
