Ron Harvell

Dr. Ron Harvell is an Assistant Professor of Christian Studies and University Chaplain at Charleston Southern University. He serves as chaplain to faculty and staff and was the foundational director of the university’s Center for Chaplaincy, which offers the nation’s only accredited Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chaplaincy Ministry.

• Doctor of Ministry in Transformational Leadership for the Global City

His research and professional work focus on equipping believers for ministry through academic programs, with a strong emphasis on global leadership and service in military and cross-cultural contexts. He has extensive experience in missionary work, including deployments to Somalia, South Korea, Qatar, and Iraq.

Dr. Harvell has received three Legion of Merit Medals for his service in the USAF. These awards recognize exceptional meritorious conduct and leadership in ministry roles supporting Air Force communities.
