Roger Waldon is a Professor of the Practice in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He concurrently serves as a Senior Consultant with Clarion Associates. His career spans over four decades in urban planning, including 21 years as Planning Director for the Town of Chapel Hill and 12 years with the Triangle J Council of Governments. He holds planning degrees from MIT and UNC-Chapel Hill.
His research focuses on city planning, new mobility systems, urban communication strategies, and public engagement in planning processes. He emphasizes bridging planning theory and practice, advocating for innovative approaches to community participation and policy implementation.
