Roger Strand

Roger Strand serves as Professor at the Center for Scientific Theory (University of Bergen) and the Department of Biotechnology and Food Science (Norwegian University of Science and Technology). His interdisciplinary work bridges philosophy, science policy, and biotechnology ethics.

Research Interests: Strand's scholarship explores the ethical dimensions of scientific innovation, with emphasis on:

• Philosophy of causation and scientific methodology
• Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) frameworks
• Environmental governance and biodiversity policy
• Bioethics in biotechnology and healthcare contexts
• Cross-cultural approaches to technology ethics (e.g., Daoist philosophy)
