Rod Vester

Rod Vester is Assistant Professor and Director of Contemporary Music at Shenandoah Conservatory. An accomplished pianist, organist, and producer, he brings multidisciplinary expertise spanning gospel, jazz, classical, and contemporary genres.

Professional Highlights: He has performed with Grammy-winning artists including CeCe Winans and Kirk Franklin, and serves as frequent clinician for organizations like Chamber Music America and Sphinx. As chorus master for the Richmond Symphony and Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, he has prepared ensembles for major conductors including Christoph Eschenbach.

Educational Approach: His teaching emphasizes creating inclusive learning environments where all students feel 'valued, voiced and visible.' He continues to perform internationally while mentoring emerging conductors.
