Robyn Quick is a Professor in the Department of Theatre Arts within the College of Fine Arts and Communication at Towson University. Her expertise lies in theatre history and dramaturgy, and she serves as the resident dramaturg at Everyman Theatre.
Her educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Theatre Studies from the University of Michigan
- M.A. in Theatre from Kent State University
- B.A. in Theatre and English from Western Maryland College
Professor Quick's research focuses on theatre history and dramaturgy. Her work spans international contexts, including presentations at national and international conferences and publications in journals such as American Theatre, The New England Journal of Theatre, and Slavic and East European Performance. She has also contributed to the Routledge Companion to Dramaturgy.
Her achievements include:
- Elliot Hayes Award for Excellence in Dramaturgy from the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas
- Gold Medallion from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival
- Senior Fulbright Scholar award for her work in Russia
Professor Quick has served as a dramaturg at the Baltimore Shakespeare Festival, PlayWorks, and Everyman Theatre (where she is the resident dramaturg). During her Fulbright, she taught at the Russian State University for the Humanities and directed at the Playwright and Director Center in Moscow.
