Robyn Marasco is a Professor of Political Science at Hunter College and The Graduate Center, CUNY. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California-Berkeley. Her research integrates critical theory, feminism, and psychoanalysis into political theory and interpretive social science. Notable works include The Highway of Despair: Critical Theory after Hegel (2015) and a forthcoming book on political theory of the family with Oxford University Press. She has co-edited special journal issues on topics like 'The Authoritarian Personality' and 'The Political Encounter with Louis Althusser.'
Marasco has held fellowships at the Whitney Center for the Humanities (Yale) and the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton). She chairs the Foundations of Political Theory sub-section of the American Political Science Association and co-edits Polity journal. Her current work explores family dynamics in critical theory, addressing themes of power, gender, and emancipation.
