Robyn Lamar

Robyn Lamar, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. She serves as the Medical Director for Gynecologic Services and specializes in preventative care, pregnancy, breastfeeding, contraception, menstrual disorders, vulvovaginal health, pelvic pain, and menopause.

Dr. Lamar’s research and clinical interests focus on evidence-based medicine combined with compassionate care, particularly in office procedures like hysteroscopy, treatment of cervical dysplasia, and surgical treatment of miscarriage, emphasizing optimal pain relief. She is also a member of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease and has expertise in gynecologic skin disorders and vaginitis.

Dr. Lamar is actively involved in medical and midwifery student education and contributed to a 2016 documentary on home birth dialogue in the United States. She also led a 2016 initiative at UCSF to make cesarean deliveries more family-friendly.
