Robin Truth Goodman is a Research Professor in the Department of English at Florida State University (FSU), part of the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and MA/PhD in Comparative Literature from New York University. Her work focuses on feminist theory’s critique of neoliberalism, analyzing how literature and critical theory challenge institutional power and social oppression.
Dr. Goodman has authored/edited multiple books including Cinema and the Political Imagination (2025), Feminism as World Literature (2023), and Gender Commodity (2020). She received FSU’s Distinguished Research Professor award (2024) and Developing Scholar award (2009), and was a UCLA Global Fellow (2003–2004). She directed FSU’s Literature Program from 2011–2014 and 2016–2018.
Her research spans feminist theory’s intersections with political economy, global literature, and cultural studies. Recent articles address topics like zombie narratives, higher education policy, and neoliberalism in film. Goodman’s work consistently bridges literary analysis with sociopolitical critique, emphasizing how cultural forms reflect and resist systemic inequities.
