Robin Howard

Robin Howard serves as the Director of Newhouse LA, managing educational programs for the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She previously directed the Los Angeles semester program from 2013 to 2022 and joined Newhouse LA as an adjunct professor in 2009. With over 30 years in the entertainment industry, she has held roles ranging from post-production supervisor on Sydney Pollack’s Out of Africa to executive producer of HBO’s Iron Jawed Angels, which garnered prestigious awards and recognitions. Her career includes leadership at production companies like Mirage Productions and Spring Creek Television.

Howard holds a BA in Television/Radio from Brooklyn College and a master’s degree from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School, where she was a teaching fellow. She is a member of the Producers Guild of America and the Television Academy.

Her work emphasizes bridging industry expertise with academic education, particularly through Newhouse LA’s programs. Notable achievements include the Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for Iron Jawed Angels, a film highlighting the women’s suffrage movement, which also earned a Humanitas Award and Congressional Caucus recognition. She continues to shape media education through her administrative and instructional roles.
