Roberto D’Alimonte

Roberto D’Alimonte is a Full Professor of Political Science at the Department of Political Science, University of Florence, where he teaches courses on the Italian political system, elections, and political parties. He has led a research group focused on electoral studies since 1993, with findings published by Il Mulino. Additionally, he serves as Director of the Centro Italiano di Studi Elettorali (Italian Centre for Electoral Studies) and is a commentator for Il Sole 24 Ore, Italy’s leading financial newspaper.

His research interests span the evolution of the Italian political system, electoral dynamics, and European integration. He teaches European Integration at New York University’s Florence Campus and has held visiting professorships at Yale and Stanford Universities, where he frequently speaks on EU institutions.

Prof. D’Alimonte has consulted for organizations such as Fondazione Olivetti and the OECD. His career highlights include interdisciplinary collaborations and public engagement through media commentary.
