Robert Schwarz

Robert Schwarz is a Research Fellow at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, leading the Satellite Networks and Waveforms research group at the Munich Center for Space Communications. He also manages the institution's Satellite Ground Station and Over-the-Air Test Range since joining the university in 2012.

Education: Master's degree in Information Technology (2006) and Ph.D. in Satellite Communications (2019), both obtained from the University of the Bundeswehr Munich.

Research Interests: His work centers on military satellite communications systems, with expertise in waveform design, network architecture, and over-the-air validation. He has contributed to Germany's SATCOMBw program since 2006 and maintains active involvement in NATO satellite communications initiatives through his role as national expert.

Professional Affiliations: Dr. Schwarz serves as scientific advisor to the German Ministry of Defence and holds memberships in IEEE, VDE/ITG (German society of information technology), AFCEA, and the Research Center SPACE. His NATO role in the SATCOM Capability Team demonstrates international recognition of his technical expertise.
