Robert Morrison is a Professor of English Literature at Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) and a British Academy Global Professor at Bath Spa University. He holds the title of Queen’s National Scholar and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (elected 2017). His research focuses on 19th-century British literature, particularly the Regency era, Jane Austen, and Thomas De Quincey. He earned his BA from the University of Lethbridge (1983), MPhil from Oxford (1987), and PhD from Edinburgh (1991). Notable accolades include multiple teaching awards (Frank Knox Award, W.J. Barnes Award) and recognition for his book The Regency Years, which was longlisted for the RBC Taylor Prize and shortlisted for the Historical Writers’ Association Crown Award.
