Dr. Keiko Aoki is an Associate Professor in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Queen's University, within the Faculty of Arts and Science. She joined Queen’s in 2000 and has held teaching roles at institutions including Austin Independent School District (USA), Middlebury College (USA), Hokkaido International Foundation (Japan), and Saint Mary’s University (Canada). She volunteers with the Japanese as a Heritage Language School in Kingston, established in 2010, now recognized as an International Language course by the Limestone District School Board.

- B.Ed. in English, Hokkaido University of Education, Japan
Research interests include Japanese language education, second language acquisition, and linguistics. She has been recognized through nominations for the Frank Knox Teaching Award (2015) and the W.J. Barnes Teaching Award (2016). Teaching responsibilities include introductory Japanese courses (JAPN 100 and JAPN 200).
