Dr. Robert L. Sinclair serves as Director of Choral Activities and Dean of the Graduate Division at VanderCook College of Music since 2001. He holds a PhD in curriculum and instruction (music education) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, alongside a Master of Music and Bachelor of Arts from Sam Houston State University. His career includes 10 years of public school teaching experience and extensive work as a choral clinician/adjudicator for honor choirs in Australia, The Bahamas, Canada, Japan, and across the U.S.
Educational background highlights include studies at Luther College under Weston Noble and doctoral research with Drs. David Rayl and Wendy Sims. Professional engagements include presentations for state Music Educators Associations, ACDA divisions, and active membership in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Pi Kappa Lambda, and NAfME.
His leadership spans administrative roles in graduate education alongside maintaining active involvement in choral music education initiatives nationally and internationally.
