Robert Keßler

Robert Keßler is a Professor of Guitar, Ensemble, and Performance Practice at SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences' Berlin School of Popular Arts, serving as Head of Popular Music. Previously, he lectured at Jazz-Institut Berlin (2014-2016) and HFM Hanns Eisler Berlin (since 2012). He holds a Diploma in Instrumental Teaching from Hanns Eisler Academy of Music (2009).

His research integrates modern jazz with world music, blues, and pop, focusing on:

• Innovative guitar techniques and psychoacoustic storytelling
• Cross-genre fusion in composition and performance
• Ensemble dynamics in contemporary music practice
• Cultural hybridity in musical expression

Creative works demonstrate consistent exploration of jazz guitar narratives, ensemble improvisation, and cultural fusion across 15+ years of album production.

Leads multiple ensembles including Robert Keßler Group, Robert Keßler Trio, and Klezmeyers, while collaborating with artists like Udo Lindenberg and Herbert Grönemeyer.
