Rob Linton

Rob Linton is an Adjunct Professor of Jazz Bass at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music, where he teaches jazz bass and jazz combos. He is also actively involved with the Blair Academy precollegiate program. Prior to Vanderbilt, he taught at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Gardner-Webb University, and the University of Tennessee, and served as bass instructor for the Knoxville Jazz Workshop. Linton holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Music (M.M.) from the University of Tennessee.

His performance career includes collaborations with notable artists such as Eric Reed, Greg Tardy, Dave Potter, and Variego3, among others. His musical expertise spans jazz ensembles, global music fusion, and educational outreach.

Linton's teaching and performance work emphasize the intersection of jazz tradition with contemporary global musical practices, reflecting his commitment to both pedagogy and artistic innovation.
