Rob Engel is an Instructor in the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics at Wayne State College. He focuses on science teacher education, clinical practice observation for future educators, and integrates interests in AI's role in education. Previously, he spent 22 years as a high school science teacher and coach in Randolph, Nebraska, teaching science, math, and physical education while coaching multiple sports.

His research interests include improving teacher retention strategies and advancing STEM education through curriculum innovation. He is pursuing a doctorate in education at the University of South Dakota, concentrating on curriculum and instruction in STEM.
A member of the Nebraska Association of Teachers of Science and the Association of Science Teacher Educators, Engel prioritizes educator development and community engagement. He resides in Wayne with his wife Melissa (Kalin ’02) and their two children, enjoying travel and sports.
